Alison
Foudy

Alison grew up in McCall, Idaho in a family of educators and farmers. After spending three years in Germany as a high school and college student, she fell in love with art and art history, earning a BA in art history and German studies from Lewis & Clark College in Portland and an MA in art history from University of Denver, where she completed internships with the Denver Art Museum. Not done traveling, she then joined the Peace Corps and taught English in Ukraine. Upon her return, she earned a second BA in English Teaching from Boise State University. While a student there, she worked in the university galleries.

After more than a decade teaching in high school classrooms and working in school libraries in McCall, Alison worked as the Curator of Community Engagement at Boise Art Museum while teaching introduction to art history classes online for BSU. In 2021, she was finally able to make the move to Hailey with her husband, two teenagers, and a growing menagerie of pets.

Alison believes strongly in the power of art to create connections and spark curiosity, and she is thrilled to be a part of the SVMoA team.
