WORKSHOP: Mastering the Brush

Calligraphy as Art & Storytelling with Yidan Guo

Tuesday, February 25, 2025 - 10:00 AM

Join acclaimed artist Yidan Guo for an engaging calligraphy workshop at the Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA). Presented in partnership with The Community Library, this hands-on session invites participants to explore the artistry, technique, and cultural significance of calligraphy. The workshop will begin with a demonstration and explanation of the art of calligraphy before participants will have the opportunity to practice their own brushwork.

The workshop follows Yidan’s talk at The Community Library on Mon, Feb 24, at 5pm, which is held in conjunction with the library’s 2025 Winter Read, Four Treasures of the Sky by Jenny Tinghui Zhang. While the workshop may touch on themes from the book, its primary focus will be on the expressive and technical aspects of calligraphy.

Whether you're an experienced artist or a curious beginner, this is a rare opportunity to learn from a master calligrapher and connect with a community of fellow enthusiasts. Reserve your spot today!

The Workshop takes place from 10am - 1pm
