WORKSHOP: Environmental Portrait Photography

Explore the intersection of landscape photography with portraiture. Learn about camera settings, making lens choices and using natural light to compose powerful landscape photographs and environmental portraits. The two-day workshop will consist of classroom instruction and a location shoot allowing participants the opportunity to practice their photography skills, learn the basics of editing, and engage in the post-production process.

Students will need:

  • Camera (ideally DSLR or Mirrorless with wide angle lens and low aperture)
  • A wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens (70-200mm) recommended, if available
  • Tripod
  • Remote Timer
  • Laptop for editing (Digital editing software, not required)

Age & ability: 17+, basic knowledge of how to operate your camera in manual mode; advanced photography skills not required.


This 2-session workshop takes place Sat & Sun, Sep 14 & 15, 10am–5pm, at the Hailey Classroom.
