WORKSHOP: Copper Pendant Making

with Alyse-Ambriel Hanna

In this beginner-friendly introduction to metalsmithing and jewelry design, learn how to incorporate texture by using stamps and texture hammers to create a wearable copper metal pendant with a bead. Participants will leave the workshop with a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of jewelry design and their own unique pendant.

Age & Ability: 16+, beginners welcome!


This workshop takes place from 5pm-8pm at the Hailey Classroom.

About the Instructor

Alyse-Ambriel Hanna is a Boise-based artist formally trained in art education, metalsmithing, and vitreous enameling. Hanna earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art Education in 2017 and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts: Jewelry/Metals/Enameling in 2019 from Kent State University. She is working towards her Master of Fine Arts at Boise State University, with her expected graduation in May 2024. Hanna has created public installations displayed through Surel’s Place, illuminating the importance of human connection to nature. Hanna’s work has been featured in The Art of Fine of Enameling, Second Edition, by Karen L. Cohen, published in 2019. She won a Finalist Award in the 5th Figurative Exhibition through Art Show International Gallery in Los Angeles in February 2023 and First Place in the 2023 All Women Artist virtual exhibition hosted by Contemporary Art Gallery Online in the category of Social Practice. Hanna’s interdisciplinary practice utilizes metalsmithing, photography, video, and sculpture to create conversations that empower women and cultivate positive change within her community.


This workshop is offered in partnership with Boise State University’s Department of Art, Design and Visual Studies.
