Leather is a living material that with care and repair can last forever. Create your own bag and accessories in a no-waste class with cowboy boot maker Morgan Buckert. Build your own accessories that will last a lifetime out of Horween American-tanned leather seconds. This leather with small blemishes has been rejected by larger companies but can be manipulated to create the highest quality products that you will be proud to carry.

Age and ability: 18 yrs and older, beginners welcome!

This class takes place Sat & Sun, July 31 & Aug 1, from 10am–4pm (rescheduled from the original dates of Mar 13 & 14).

About the instructor: 

Morgan Buckert builds custom cowboy boots with bespoke patterns, traditional construction techniques, and vintage machinery in Hailey, Idaho. She is 7th generation of a Texan ranch family and the influence of cowboy culture is evident in all her work. Hailing from Goliad, Texas, Morgan has degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and The University of New Mexico. Morgan studied footwear at Penland School of Crafts and apprenticed with a master bootmaker in Idaho. Idaho Commission on the Arts has awarded her with three grants, and she participated in the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program.
