CREATIVE JUMP-IN: The Documentary Short: Digital Storytelling

Have a story you want to tell? This 2-day field workshop is for aspiring photographers/videographers who want to take their storytelling skills to the next level. Bring your ideas, cameras, and curiosity for two full days of observation, image making, and editing.
 
This workshop will cover the key features of capturing photos and/ or videos, as well as review noteworthy hybrid examples. Students will develop new technical and artistic techniques.

Age and ability: 17 years and older.


This 2-day workshop takes place Sat & Sun, Aug 13 & 14, 10am–6pm.

About the Instructor

Based in the Bay Area, media artist Richard Neill attended photography workshops at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts in the early 1980s with Robert Heinecken, John Pfahl, and Robert Cumming. He is the Founder/Director of Adventure Pictures, which has produced numerous films for museums, international NGOs, National Geographic and PBS. His work is included in the collections of the MAK Museum/Vienna, Smithsonian/Cooper Hewitt, City of Seattle, and the Polaroid Collection.
