Educator Evening

Sustainable Art Practices for the Classroom

Jueves, Marzo 19, 2026 - 4:00 PM

Prepare your students for Earth Day with a creative, sustainability-focused Educator Evening designed for K–12 classrooms. This hands-on session draws from Art Education for a Sustainable Planet by Joy G. Bertling*, exploring how art education can foster environmental stewardship, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.

Together, we’ll experiment with earth-friendly and natural art materials, discuss practical strategies for integrating sustainability into visual arts curricula, and develop classroom-ready ideas that connect artistic practice with environmental awareness. Participants will gain adaptable lesson concepts that encourage students to reflect on their relationship with the planet through making and meaning.

Spend the evening browsing eco-art titles from our Director’s personal library, sharing ideas with fellow educators, and leaving inspired with fresh tools for meaningful Earth Day instruction.

Educator Evening is offered monthly—held in either Hailey or Ketchum on the third Thursday from 4–6 pm. Light refreshments provided, including water, sparkling water, wine, beer, and charcuterie. Refreshments provided. Creativity encouraged. Connection guaranteed.

This event takes place from 4-6pm at The Museum.
