WORKSHOP: Vegetable Garden Sketching

with Poo Wright-Pulliam

Jueves, Julio 6, 2023 - 9:00 AM

Grab your art supplies and get outside! Painting and drawing nature are ways to develop an informal art practice that connects us to the ecology of the places we inhabit. Sign up for one or both of these 4-hour workshops!

In workshops offered on July 5 and 6, students will tap into observation skills and learn basic drawing or painting techniques as we sketch plants and vegetables growing in our backyards. Students should come prepared to carry their art materials for sketching and exploring the blooms in The Hunger Coalition’s Hope Garden, just steps from SVMoA’s Hailey Classroom.

If outside temperatures are too hot, adjustments will be made to sketch inside.

Age & ability: 16 and older, beginners welcome!

This 1-day workshop takes place Thursday, July 6, from 9am–1pm.

*This class is offered twice: July 5 & 6. Mediums will change.
Schedule:
  • Wed, Jul 5: Pencil and/or colored pencil focus. Participants should bring drawing pencils or colored pencils and a sketch notebook.
  • Thu, Jul 6: Watercolor focus. Participants should bring watercolors and a watercolor notebook.

If you are interested in learning about both mediums, please sign up for both days.
