AFTERNOON ART:
Name Critters

This project is inspired by the artist Joaquín Torres-García, whose painted wooden toys are part of the current exhibition Free Play.

For this project you will need: copy paper, markers and scissors.

Recommended for ages 6 and up.


AFTERNOON ART:
Boomtown Boxes

This project is inspired by the interactive sculpture Boomtown by the artist Tucker Nichols. Boomtown encourages visitors to build their own sculptural cities using wooden blocks and other materials.

For this project you will be using a variety of empty paperboard boxes to create a cityscape.

Recommended for ages 6 and up—adult supervision advised when using hot glue.


AFTERNOON ART:
A-Mazing Art

This project is inspired by the artist Matt Sellars’s art, Ruta Alternativa (Alternative Route). For this project you will be using a variety of empty paperboard boxes to create your own mini maze.

To create this you will need: Empty Paper board boxes, hot glue, masking tape scissors, acrylic paint, found objects and small ball or marble Optional: hole punch reinforcements and other stickers or markers.

Recommended for ages 7 and up.

 

 


AFTERNOON ART:
Paper Amusement Parks

This project is inspired by the sculptor Isamu Noguchi’s drawings and models for playgrounds, play equipment and toys. To create this you will need glue, paper and scissors.

Recommended for ages 6 and up.


AFTERNOON ART:
Spread Sunshine with Chalk

This video encourages families to spread positive messages through art. Learn how to make homemade chalk paint using a few simple ingredients from your kitchen.

Recommended for families of all ages.

Expanding on an Image

Join us for a fun art game. Enjoy this art game alone, or play with as many people as you like.

For this project you will need: Office supply stickers, markers and paper

AFTERNOON ART: 
Flowers and Love Bugs

Love Bugs and Flowers an Up-cycled Bouquet for Mother’s Day With Mother’s Day is right around the corner is video provides directions to create a fun and simple gift for that special person.

For this project you need: Egg carton, scissors, paint or markers, glue, sticks, box and jar.

Recommended for people ages 6 and up - adult supervision advised if using hot glue


AFTERNOON ART:
Art Kit

Sun Valley Museum of Art is proud to have been able to provide Art Kits for the elementary students in the Blaine County School District. This video reviews simple tips for using and taking care of the colored pencils, watercolor paint pans and white school glue included in the kit.

Recommended for elementary school students and parents.

The Student Art Kits were is provided by Sun Valley Museum of Art and made possible through the generous support of Kay Hardy and Gregory Kaslo.

 

 


AFTERNOON ART:
We the People

In honor of Memorial Day, this video revisits the past BIG IDEA exhibition, We the People, Protest and Patriotism.

The drawing project in this video provides an opportunity for families to discuss national US symbols and then draw their own national symbol.

Cajas en Boomtown

Este proyecto está inspirado por la escultura interactiva creada por el artista Tucker Nichols. Boomtown alienta a los visitantes a crear su propia ciudad escultural, utilizando bloques de madera y otros materiales. Para este proyecto utilizaras una variedad de cajas de cartón vacías para crear tu paisaje urbano.

Recomendado para personas de edades de 6 en adelante.

Se recomienda la supervisión de un adulto al utilizar pegamento caliente.


ARTE POR LA TARDE:
Creando Bichos con tu nombre!

Este proyecto está inspirado en el artista Joaquín Torres-García, cuyos juguetes de madera pintados son parte de la exposición actual Juego Libre. Para este proyecto necesitarás: papel de copia, marcadores y tijeras.

Recomendado para personas de 6 años en adelante.


ARTE POR LA TARDE: 
Arte Asombrosa

Este proyecto está inspirado en la obra de arte titulada “Ruta Alternativa” del artista Matt Sellars. Para este proyecto, utilizará una variedad de cajas de cartón vacías para crear su propio mini laberinto. Para crear esto, necesitará: Cajas de cartón vacías, pegamento caliente, tijeras y cinta adhesiva, pintura acrílica y una pelota pequeña o canica.

Opcional: Etiquetas adhesivas y marcadores.

Recomendado para personas de 7 años en adelante.

Flores y bichos amorosos, un ramo reciclado para el día de las madres! Con el Día de la Madres a la vuelta de la esquina, el video brinda instrucciones para crear un regalo divertido y sencillo para esa persona especial.

Para este proyecto necesita: cartón de huevos, tijeras, pintura o marcadores, pegamento, palillos de madera, una caja vacía y un frasco.

Recomendado para personas de 6 años en adelante: se recomienda la supervisión de un adulto si utiliza pegamento caliente.

Kit de Arte

Sun Valley Museum of Art está orgulloso de poder proporcionar kits de arte para los estudiantes de educación primaria, en el distrito escolar del condado de Blaine.

Este video nos muestra algunos trucos y recomendaciones para cuidar y utilizar tus lápices de colores, acuarelas y pegamento liquido incluidos en este kit.
