In this class you will learn and use\nthe twining technique to make either a 2” diameter plate or a little\nround box\, just the right size for a ring. A lid can be made out of class.\nTh e material we use will be 4 and 7 ply waxed linen\, in multitude of\nbeaut iful colors. The film \ncelebrates the 45th anniversary of Carole King's masterpiece album\,\nTa pestry\, by documenting the spectacular 2016 concert for more than 65\,000 \nfans in Hyde Park\, London\, England. That show was the first-ever\nperf ormance of the entire Tapestry album in sequence was Carole’s first\ncon cert in England since 1989 and features Carole leading a full band\n(inclu ding rhythm guitarist Danny Kortchmar\, who played on the original\nTapest ry album) through each of the album's 12 songs\, plus her favorite\ncompos itions from her astonishing songbook.

Guest performers include\nher daughter\, Louise Goffin\, who joins her mother on several tracks\ninclud ing Where You Lead\, plus the Laurence Olivier Award-winning West End\ncas t of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

    Dur ing her fifteen years as an art educator\, Kimber\nTraue has enjoyed shari ng her love of art with students of all ages. She\nstrongly believes in th e power of art to encourage dialogue\, foster\ncritical thinking and explo re new ideas. Additionally\, Kimber has an MA in\nliteracy and delights in using visual art strategies to support reading\nskills. Currently she tea ches art and reading at Bellevue Elementary\nSchool. In this class\nstudents will learn three different methods to hand deco rate paper that\nwill then be used to construct a hardcover drumleaf book of their very own.\nNo bookmaking experience is necessary as we will cover basic bookbinding\ntechniques such as finding paper grain\, folding paper \, joining paper and\ncovering boards. Students will be provided with clea r instruction and\nhandouts. This is a great class if you are new to bookm aking!

    Angela Batchelor currently lives in Twin Falls\, Idaho with her husband\nand two sons where she is an Assistant Professor of Art at the College of\nSouthe rn Idaho. Her background is in painting and printmaking\, but she fell\nin love with calligraphy\, paper and book arts while teaching in Portland\,\ nOregon. Angela’s artwork meanders between expressive mark-making and\nm ixed media pieces to ones that focus on religious\, social and scientific\ nthemes. Her works have been featured in national and international\nexhib itions.

    About the Instructor:

    Artist and printmaker Marne Elmore grew up in the Wood\nRiver Valley\, and curren tly lives and works in Boise\, where she enjoys\nbiking\, reading\, cookin g\, and of course\, making art. She enjoys the wide\nspectrum of variabili ty and repeatability that printmaking can bring to an\nart practice\, and she focuses on relief printmaking\, painting\, and\ndrawing.
