\nNashville-based\nKorby Lenker is a singer\, songwriter\, author\, guitarist and\nmulti-instrumen talist who grew up in Twin Falls as the son of a\nmortician.Korby has perf ormed internationally and has shared the stage with\nsuch legends as Willi e Nelson and Ray Lamontagne\, as well as Nickel Creek\,\nTristan Prettyman \, Susan Tedeschi\, and many others.
He’s had wins\nin the Merlef est folk songwriting contest as well as the Kerrville Folk\nFestival’s e lite New Folk songwriting competition and can often be heard\non legendary Seattle indie rock station KEXP. He is here celebrating the\nrelease of h is 7th album\, Thousand Springs\, which got its start\nlast sprin g in Southern Idaho as Korby recorded base tracks everywhere from\nthe bas ement of the mortuary to a cabin north of Ketchum. While here\, Korby\nwil l be working with students from Wood River High School.

It sp ans the lives of self-taught artist James Castle\, who was born\nin Garde n Valley in 1899 and died in Boise in 1977\, and Ernest Hemingway\,\nwho began visiting Idaho in the 1930s and ended his life in Ketchum in\n1961 . It closes with the 1980 publication of Marilynne Robinson’s\nHouseke eping\, set in a town in northern Idaho. The exhibition features the\nwor k of five artists—two historic\, three contemporary—all responding\nt o Idaho’s landscapes and literature.
