Get a\ nhead start on planning for March’s Women’s History Month curriculum a t\nFebruary’s Educator Night—a hands-on\, adult-focused creative space \nwhere educators explore meaningful ways to integrate visual arts into\nu pcoming classroom lessons.
This session focuses on visu al\nstorytelling and art-based projects that celebrate the achievements\,\ nexperiences\, and contributions of women throughout history. Through\ncol lage\, illustration\, and narrative-focused artmaking\, participants will\ ndiscover creative approaches for helping students engage with women’s\n stories\, examine representation\, and amplify diverse voices.
Educators will experiment with accessible techniques while\ndiscu ssing strategies for weaving women’s history into cross-curricular\nlear ning—not only for March\, but as part of inclusive\, year-round\nteachin g. You’ll leave with classroom-ready ideas and adaptable project\ntempla tes to support thoughtful\, engaging Women’s History Month\nactivities.< /p>
Educator Evening is offered monthly—held in\neither H ailey or Ketchum on the third Thursday from 4–6 pm. Refreshments\nprovid ed. Creativity encouraged. Connection guaranteed.
Open to educators\nof all subject areas\, Educator Eve ning is a FREE professional development\nseries occurring monthly. Blaine County educators may receive in-service\n(continuing education) hours for their participation. SVMoA shares the\nnames of those BCSD educators who p articipate with the school district\noffice for in-service district hours. Try your hand at\n printmaking using a press. Cut a 4x6 linoleum block and do a simple\none-c olor print. Work from images provided in the Open Studio\, or bring in\nyo ur own to work from. You are also welcome to bring your paper to print\non . Caty Kendall will be assisting everyone with using the press and\nlearni ng some of the basics of the printmaking process.
