C ome over to\nSVMoA’s Hailey Classroom for Teen Night—the place to be c reative\, have\nsnacks\, and meet other teens with similar and different i nterests.\nFeaturing new\, fun projects each time! Register in advance or drop in to\nexplore ideas and new activities\, including:

  • Joi n in\nteen-centered activities planned by teens
  • Hang out and list en to\nmusic in a stress-free environment
  • Meet and collaborate wi th teens\nand creative professionals
  • Get creative in an open stud io: hone\nyour skills and experiment with art and design

No\nexperience necessary. Open to all teenagers of any experience and int erest\nlevels\, ages 13–18.

Teen Night takes place from\n5: 30–7pm.

About Teen Nights

Teens are invited to\n Teen Night\, a free art-making program on select Fridays by and for teens. \nWork with SVMoA Team to create and learn new techniques with art project s\ninspired by SVMoA’s past and present exhibitions. All free and geared \ntoward young people ages 13–18.

The Sun Valley Museum of Art is collaborating with Boise\nState Univ ersity’s College of Innovation + Design to bring their MashUp\nlecture s eries to the Wood River Valley. Inspired by similar programs at\nother con temporary art museums\, MashUps are designed to bring audiences\ntogether with lecturers to evoke creative connections.

For each\nMashUp even ing\, two presenters will each speak for 20 minutes on a topic of\ntheir p assion\, and a third 20-minute segment invites the audience to ask\nquesti ons and find commonality between the two disparate topics. The host\nand t imekeeper for the evening will be Boise State University’s College\nof I nnovation + Design’s Associate Dean\, Jen Schneider.

Kirsten Furlong is an artist and the\nDirector of the Blue Galleries in the Department of Art\, Design and Visual\nStudies at Boise State. She will be talking about a collaboration between\nthe Cen ter for the Visual Arts and the Intermountain Bird Observatory\nfocused on decreasing bird deaths caused by architectural design and how\nthis relat es to her own art about the natural world. Darrin J. Pufall Purdy\nis an A ssociate Professor of Theater Arts at Boise State and specializes in\ncost ume design. He'll be talking about his research on the historic\ngarments worn by women in religious orders and how that led him to design\nhistoric ally-accurate habits for the Broadway revival of\nDoubt.

To recreate these historic images\, Sofia has worked wi th the\nJeanne Rodger Lane Center for Regional History at The Community Li brary to\nselect photos and find historically accurate props and clothing from our\ncollection. Immediately following the talk\, continue the conver sation at a\nreception at the Wood River Museum.
 
Raised in the Wood River\nValley\, Jaramillo is an accomplished photographer and fil m director who has\nworked for media outlets such as The New York Time s\, National\nGeographic\, and The Guardian. Her wo rk focuses on uplifting\nand telling the stories of BIPOC in outdoor space s.

After\, find inspiration for your painting in the\n sounds and images of these beautiful creatures while enjoying light\nrefre shments.  

Living with Wolves is a non-profit organization\ndedica ted to engaging the public worldwide in education\, outreach and\nresearch to promote truth and understanding about wolves\, while encouraging\ncoex istence and inspiring people to take action to protect them.
