CREATIVE JUMP-IN: Portraits in Clay
with Colin Moore
Friday, August 5, 2022 - 9:00 AM
Using stoneware on a modeling stand and live model observation, students will explore the complexity of the human body. During this portrait workshop participants will simplify the basic structures of the head and neck to develop an understanding of shape, proportion, facial features, and their contribution to gesture and expression. The start of the workshop will be dedicated to technical modeling instruction, and as it progresses, students will incorporate self-expression and creativity. On completion of the modeling process, the portraits will be removed from the modeling stands, hollowed and prepared for kiln firing.
Age and ability: 18 years and older, beginners welcome!
This 5-day workshop takes place Mon–Fri, Aug 1–5, from 9am–2pm daily.
